Eat local food for a moderate price at Restaurante El Pueblo, a half block north of Dos Locos across from the Sansa office. Dos Locos, this cornerstone and gringo-happy institution, serves up delicious Tex/Mex food at very reasonable prices (one block e. of Hotel Kamuk). Dos Locos has live music twice a week and is a quaint place to grab a window seat and chill-out.
El Banco Bar has a warm friendly atmosphere and serves Tex-Mex food and beer in the former bank. Our favorite bar food is at Wacky Wanda’s, about 150 feet east of the bank.

Head to the Sunspot Grill at Makanda-by-the-Sea for quality food in a relaxed dining atmosphere. For one of the truly more amazing, “off the beaten path” dining experiences go to Arenas Del Mar. You can take a golf cart down to the water’s edge and experience an incredible menu or organic samplings while listening to the sounds of the sea lap at the sand. Arenas Del Mar sets a restaurant industry standard by using best practices in sustainability. Have a HUGE tasty tropical drink as you sip through a straw made from recycled materials. If you are a ceviche fan their’s is unique and can stand alone. Finally, don’t forget to try the homemade chips and guacamole. After a warm day of sun and sand this combination is to die for.
For more informal dining head to the Rico Tico bar at Si Como No and for non-Tico food, try Pickles Deli next door. You can sit under the wing of Colonel Oliver North’s cargo plane at El Avion (by Si Como No), or try La Cantina’s railroad car, at Hotel Costa Verde.
