Visit Quepos

Explore the people, food, and customs of this area of Costa Rica. Quepos, the once lively United Fruit banana port, is now a quaint fishing town that offers regular bus service, affordable restaurants, and a dynamic nightlife. This colorful agricultural area also resides near one of the first missions of Costa Rica. It was established in 1570 and then abandoned around 1751. The ruins are located on the Naranjo River. Nearby Manual Antonio is just minutes away for fine dining, white sand beaches and the famous Manuel Antonio National Park.

On the beaches you can sunbathe, surf, swim, snorkel, or rent horses and go on a tropical trail ride outside the park. Sailing, snorkeling, and dolphin watching are all main attractions and hiking in the park is easy as there are trails accessible for walking and wildlife viewing. Various species of monkeys including cupuchin, spider, and white faced monkeys live here and tiny squirrel monkeys are a special treat (called titis in Spanish).
